Church History
On August 1, 1965, Bright Light Baptist Mission, meeting in a small building on the side of Highway 115, became Bright Light Baptist Church led by God, Brother Hoover Marlowe, and 33 charter members.
In September of that same year, seven acres of land were purchased at the present site of the church and services began at a small ‘wise home’ on the property. In 1969, a basement was erected and services were moved to that building. The completed upstairs of the building was opened on August 6, 1972. In August of 2004, a major renovation of the interior of the building was completed.
The history of Bright Light Baptist Church includes four different pastors. Brother Hoover Marlowe, Brother Buster Treadway, Brother Keith Bowman, and now Brother Jayson Fox.
In September of 2011 God allowed us to move into a beautiful 300 seat auditorium. After six and one half months of building and three years of praying and seeking Gods direction we have now been Blessed with a new place of Worship. To God be the Glory, Great things He hath done!
We look forward to what the future holds for Bright Light Baptist Church.
